Jakub Szewczyk: Scout Portfolio

I'm Jakub Szewczyk (pronounced Jay-cub Chef-chick) a professional scout based in the U.K. specialising in Elite Youth, and Emerging Talent talent identification and recruitment in Europe and South America.

My time watching and analysing is split between live youth matches in Scotland for the Polish FA and video scouting Chilean and South American Football to create public reports to showcase my work.

Vision​

• Football is the world's game and a contender for eyeballs in today's attention economy. We have a responsibility to entertain. As a scout, my role is to sign players who help the team win, get fans on the edge of their seats, and bring joy to the club and the wider local, national, or international community.

• ​My preference is to recommend players who take initiative in their role and always look to make things happen on the pitch.

• I write concise 1-2 page reports, as I believe that a good scout should be able to write a report with sufficient detail and information to help their boss make an informed decision. If asked to by a club, I would be happy to adapt and write longer reports.

• In order to have a fully fleshed-out tactcial fit section in my scout reports, they (the 2025 onwards) are written as if I were a scout working for a club who either: 

        A - I believe would be a great next step for my scouted           LATAM player to move to (positive report).

        OR

        B - Has been reported be interested in signing one of               my scouted LATAM players, and I believe that this                     would be a suboptimal decison for all parties (negative           report).
